So Loni had her final mile run for the Shamrock Marathon. The idea is that the kids run a full marathon over a few months. They log miles at home and at school and then all the kids run the last mile together. Loni had over 30 miles logged but you still run a mile at the event. We were worried that she wouldn't run and would walk the whole thing, but she surprised us and ran the whole time. She did a great job. Ada was not so happy about waiting for the race to start, but was happy because the weather was an awesome 80degrees!

Rick and Loni before the race, Rick ran with the school group too. He came in behind Loni but just to pull up the slower runners!

Rick after the race finish.

Loni at the end of the race with her medal.

Loni at the beach after the run.....it was run right next to the beach on the boardwalk so we went and dipped our toes since it was so nice out.

that sounds like the best way to run a marathon to me. i think i could handle that. :) tell loni she did great!!! the beach looks huge by the way. i don't think our beaches are that big. i think our sand is disappearing.

Now I understand about the "race" in the above post. I agree with Jody. What a great way to run a marathon and what a good idea especially for little kids. Loni looks great and I am jealous of an 80 degree day. Way to go, Rick, to support your daughter and the other children. She ran all the way, WOW, Loni...GO, girl. So love this post. Thanks for sharing. Love, Mom
