My many projects.

I love counter space. I have little of it. Then I tend to cover it up with all sorts of things. Some I need there like a toaster, but then other things can definitely not be there. Like my masses of papers I tend to pile there. Anyway I saw this at ikea and I thought I would try it out! The bar holds a small dish drainer, some things I "must" have out,and my towels! I used to just have the towel and dish drainer on the counter or hanging from a knob. Not anymore! I think I will enjoy this.
I love chalkboards. I don't know why. I have done a few projects over the years trying to get chalkboards around for the kids. They haven't really worked. Well I had a plan to paint a wall in my kitchen with chalkboard paint for the kids to write on and I will use a bit. Then this darn cupboard used to have glass which one fell out and broke. I had to replace it and I finally came up with the idea to try and make it into a chalkboard! So I can't reach the top but I figure I can write things up there like "don't eat that chocolate!" or some other inspirational saying. The lower part I will use for meal planning, grocery lists, or just notes. I wrote a bit so you could see. Isn't it fun! I think I will use it.
Another ikea find was this wire hanging line. I had one like it in the other room that was twine so I bought two and put one in Loni's room and one in Tyce/Adas room. This is Loni's. She can now hang whatever she wants up there and the little sister and brother can't reach it!
I can't remember if I posted this, but here is the basic finished project. I hung up shelves and got rid of some floor clutter. This is in my room since our computer is wireless the printer and things don't have to be downstairs. Yes, this is the last of the orange in my house. Just in case you were wondering. It really isn't that orange. I don't mind it.

Jody is right... it is so nice to get things more organized. I am glad to see that you put up alot of the stuff we bought when we went to Washington DC... things look organized... I have a couple of places in my house that I will make piles. But I work hard on getting rid of them on a regular basis. I think things in the kitchen look good and the color looks good, too and the chalkboard walls are nice. Love, Mom
